Alhamdulillah..Today in history..On 31 July 2021, Pontian District Council (MDP) was officially upgraded to Pontian Municipal Council (MPPn).
The proclamation of Pontian Municipal Council was officially announced by YAB Dato 'Haji Hasni bin Mohammad, Menteri Besar of Johor accompanied by YB Dato' Haji Azmi bin Rohani, Johor State Secretary, YB Tuan Haji Ayub bin Jamil, Chairman of the Housing and Local Government Committee, YB Dato ' Haji Salehuddin bin Haji Hassan, State Financial Officer, Ybhg Tuan Haji Mohd Rafi bin Abdullah, Pontian District Officer, Ybhg Encik Mohd. Farid bin Kassim, SUB of the Local Government Division and Tuan Mohd. Ezzuddin bin Sanusi, President of Pontian Municipal Council.
In conjunction with this historic day, an allocation of RM 1 million was provided by MPPn to implement the handing over of the MPPn Caring Basket to alleviate the burden of the population affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
YAB Menteri Besar also handed over a replica of the Ihsan Johor 3.0 Economic Stimulus Package (PRE) check for 'one-off' assistance for the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector and the Community Sector and INSAN Capital (Salon & Barber Operators) to the Chairman of the Housing Committee and Local Government.
YAB Menteri Besar also completed the "flag-off" session as symbolic of handing over the MPPn Caring Basket aid.
At the same time, YAB Menteri Besar also had time to visit the Diamond Jubilee Hall Vaccine Center, Pontian.
